NEW YORK -- "Police will begin random searches of bags and packages carried by people entering city subways, officials announced Thursday after a new series of bomb attacks in London."
"Passengers carrying bags will be selected at random before they pass through turnstiles, and those who refuse to be searched won't be allowed to ride, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said."
With the reality of this war striking closer to home again today, the New York Police Department isn’t taking any chances as they vow to begin random searches of bags. Unfortunately, the United States has adopted the policy of waiting until an attack or an attack upon an ally to shift or change methods of dealing with these people. Police departments around the country should have been conducting random searches the day after September 11th. Of course the Left will cry for their civil liberties and claim America is becoming Nazi Germany, but we’ll get used to the rhetoric sooner or later. There will come a time when the reality of this war will be amongst us. We must stick to our guns, we must not show weakness. These monsters thought America would crumble at the first sight of bloodshed on American soil. They were wrong. We must continue to support the GOP in their effort to eliminate the threat posed towards our nation. There will be elections to come, there will be decisions to be made about the future of this country. This is a wake up call. Not just to the people of Europe, but to the people of the world.

If you aren't carrying a bomb, I don't see why you would be afraid of the searches. Sure it's a hassle, but it's worth it. But sadly, along with the war that the terrorosits got, they succeeded in a way by starting a civil war in our own country through the media. A war which the right is despritely losing as people like durbin feel no remorse in taking actions that kill hundreds of good people in the hopes it makes their opposition look bad.
hmmmm, I'm beginning to get a feel for what you're all about >> if it's good, give the conservatives credit. If the conservatives screw things up, either blame the liberals or bring up the Clinton blow job >& even though it was 7 years ago, never let it go until the next liberal takes over.
For godsakes man, the war on terror has been going on now longer than all of World War II & the goddamn end is nowhere in sight. If anything, things are going from bad to worse. And all you conservatives who think this is just great, please get off your collective asses & volunteer to be sent to the front lines in Iraq & Afghanistan. Because it's for damn sure the Iraqi army is not going to assume full responsibility for a long time > the ones who don't desert that is. And the rate the suicide bombers are taking out the police force, where are the reinforcements going to come from?
And if your prophecy about: There will come a time when the reality of this war will be amongst us. We must stick to our guns, we must not show weakness, comes true, I just know it's going to be the Liberals fault in your mind. But the reality is the Iraq & Afghanistan are becoming the Bushman's quagmire sucking us deeper into the vortex of this never ending nightmare. Much the same as tricky Dick Nixon sucked us into Laos, Cambodia & Viet Nam even after his closest advisors like Robert McNamara said there was no hope of winning anything.

Of corse WWII didn't seice for 8 years as a democrat came to power, not to mention the 4 with a moderate republican who got swayed by the liberals to seice only to have his son have to finish the job. And conservitives are volenteering for the armed services much faster the the liberals are, and always have been, times of peace and war. And the terrorists would be the ones having trouble gaining steam if the media would present the truth once in a while. Instead of the liberals like newsweek saying something false that leads to thousands of innocent deaths as thousands join the terrorists cause because of what was written, then appologize for their mistake afterwards. And I will also remind you that it is because we showed weakness 15 years ago that we're even in Iraq now. This war will take a long time, decades at the least, but with each victory we make our borders that much safer, and give freedom to millions.
I beg to disagree with you... When do you see Christians with that kind of faith? Yes in other countries where they are persecuted many show the devotion that the followers of Islam do but I am speaking of typical American Christians.... Most are not willing to die for their faith much less seek to die even unto theirselves and their own desires... Whether the followers of Islam are right or wrong you have to admit they are very passionate ....

you can be passionately wrong in your beliefs.... honestly what are you willing to give your life for? you aren't religious .... would you give your life for George W. Bush or Rush Limbaugh? To give your life for something shows a devotion that most run of the mill people don't have for much of anything...
I am saying Christians need to be as passionate as they Muslims are in their faith... The difference is we are called to die to ourselves and to our desires... We are called to let God take control and to submit to his will... We are called to give our lives for him whether that be a literal death or merely a spiritual death which can be just as sacrificial in so many ways... Obviously the bible does not call for Christians to die Jihad so I am not saying that is what we need to do....

Why do I see a checkpoint-bombing rash coming on? people bombing the checkpoints rather than the trains. Think about it...a congestion of people waiting at a bottleneck. bomb goes off in line. Don't even need to hit the train at all.

i don't mind it if it's for my safety! ugh my boyfriend is a liberal (we've managed to stay together by not talking about politics heehee) and he believes that nazi comparison too. people need to read books more. and watch the history channel. then they won't be so brutally embarassing for themselves.
