  • Roe Vs Wade In Danger

WASHINGTON -- "A likable lawyer who represented industries in cases at the Supreme Court before becoming an appeals court judge is President Bush's choice to fill his first high court vacancy."

"John G. Roberts Jr., 50, who has been praised by conservatives and liberals, also has the shortest of track records to be attacked during the confirmation process."

"Abortion rights groups contend that he tried during his days as a lawyer in the first Bush administration to overturn Roe v. Wade. Roberts helped write a brief that stated "we continue to believe that Roe was wrongly decided and should be overruled."

Just minutes ago President Bush announced the nomination of John G. Roberts as the successor of Sandra Day O’Conner. Roberts who’s viewed by many conservative law professors as one of the greatest conservative thinkers of our time, has been viewed by abortion rights groups as a dangerous nomination.  More to come on this story in the following days.

  • (ryc:  why, thank you.  I like your site, too!  I AM a big Bush fan.)

I had logged on several different times, and each time it had that Bush was getting ready to announce his choice.  The last time I logged on, they had updated!!  I like what I see so far, but do not really know much more than what you have included in your posting.

  • Sounds good.

  • I know I shouldn't be typing this because you have no idea who I am or anything about me. All I know is how much this whole trying to ban abortions is really pissing me off. Especially if you are a guy like your xanga says you are. You have no idea what the risks of being a woman are. One out of every 4 women in the U.S. will be raped in their lifetime. If they took away the right for abortions, a raped woman would have to go through their pregnancy with a child that was forced upon them. Women have the god damn right to choose when they are to give life and because they have to feed, clothe, and take care of a child. Women have futures too. They weren't made to be knocked up and have to settle for a life at home. Mistakes happen. Abortions happen before there is even a heart beat. My take on abortions are why  have two half-lives instead one full life. Cause God knows only 1 out of every 10 men actually marry or stay with the girl they knock up(statistic for teenage pregnancies). Their is little financial support for single mothers let alone emotional backing. Often times these girls lose friends and family because of one mistake that could ruin life. The child will have an immature often resentful mother who wasn't ready to have this child. I'm sorry but I will march down to Washington and take down anyone who had any part in banning abortions. I am an American and I expect my rights as a woman and as an individual. I would feel so unsafe if they changed the law on abortion. One mistake could change my whole life. I'm not one to sleep around, but I am a human being who can easily make mistakes. I know you must think I'm some ranting liberal(I notice that you do not liek liberals), but I'm not. I'm just a scared girl in this country seeing her right being taken away. This country is turning into a fucking theocracy. I'm sorry, but don't post these things if you wanted everyone to agree with you. I will delete any posts on my xanga from people preaching to me about "well the bible says this..." I'm sick of that. There should be no talk of the bible when speaking of the laws in America. Separation of Church and goddamn State.

    Love,
    Kelly

  • Great post to you,TOO!!!!!!

  • nothing to say, huh? what happened to a reply to my last post??

    r u scaaarrreeedd??????

  • oH sNaPs! mO gOt dIsSeD!

    only not really...

  • Roberts could use some red eye...

  • This guy sounds pretty solid so far.

  • Well if Roe v. Wade is overturned, & the evangelicals & conservaties count it as a stunning upset & great victory, will anyone be surprised?  I think not!

And will women stop having abortions?  I also think not.

The rich will fly off to whatever more enlightened country provides the service > of which there are many.  The poor, won't fare quite so well.  They'll have to rely on the back alley butchers operating in secrecy to get the job done.   Of course for those without any resources of cash will be forced to give birth, go on welfare & ADC, & abandon all hope of ever becoming self-sufficent>>no matter if their pregnancy occured due to rape or incest, or their unborn child will be born unwanted & unloved.

Yeah, the conservatives & evangelicals are going to take of you poor women > don't you worry about that!

  • geezer, you might want to keep your day job, this whole conspiracy theorist gig isn't working out for you.

  • let's start a fan club for Kelly!!! Who's with me?
