Republican_Youth you really fail to realize the point of my comment....and since its made sooo obviously clear at the end...I guess I might as well restate it.

Im pointing out that not only does the left have loons like Moore, and Sheehan (if you really want to consider her a loon, personally I don't since she is simply carrying out her beliefs in her manner, and I respect her greatly for that) but the right as well, ala Ann Coulter, Falwell, Rush etc etc.

Those comments were to serve as a reminder that although you can point out the wacky liberals (the trite phrase Morrison loves to use), don't be so sure that the conservatives are immaculate when it comes to loons.

Anyone is free to critique and call the president anything as much as they want. The only thing you can't do legally is say you're going to kill him. Jefferson was called many bad things, such as a philosophic cock an atheist and coward, by newspapers back when he was president, it was even claimed by newspapers that Thomas Jefferson was dead, so whats the problem with criticizing the president? Its been done in the past and done many times before.

The most un-American thing you can do is call for someone to shut their mouth when criticizing the president.

As for your second comment, I think there is a clear distinction between someone carrying out their political beliefs in a civilized manner and of course Hitler killing the jews because of his wacked out logic. Hitler has no right to create a genocide, and besides are you suggesting I would ever support and defend and genocide??? Where do you get the audacity to claim such things. You again do not understand the point where I am getting at. I defend her because she is able to voice her opinion, its called freedom of speech. Im not in a smear campaign to call her a lunatic or anything like that, I am simply defending her RIGHT to voice such an opinion.

Well crap as if Christianity is the panacea to all our problems. Got Cancer? pray to God. In Financial Debt? Go to church. In a country filled with Islamic fundamentalists while you live in fear of suicide bombings? Convert to Christianity.

I have two problems with Coulter's quote. Number one: it calls for us coming in and acting like saviours to the heathen Muslims, as if. We're there to provide democracy not force feed people dogmatic beliefs. Though you're dealing with people who have been living under a harsh regime and THREE factions that want their government to be ran THEIR way, its definitely going to be an uphill battle creating a democracy.

Second problem I have with the quote is her reference to WWII and the carpet bombing missions. Bombing of Dresden comes very clear in mind. She implies in her sickly mind that no one is innocent, but rather than going for JUST Hitler and the Nazi army we went for the citizens. Let me remind you that WWII was the first time EVER, that nations waged war against innocent citizens. Since then we have developed smart bombs that are in fact supposedly accurate and would avoid civilian casualties. Thus we should not be fighting a war against the citizens as Ann Coulter here implies, but we should be fighting a war against the insurgents. Waging a war against the civilians is certainly not going to win them over.

and I have nothing against the Islamic religion, it is, I think, the biggest religion to date.

Her short sighted views are laughable, though its scary when you just realize how serious she takes
herself.
