Bush: "The Results Are Not Enough"
We Don’t Have Nearly Enough Troops Or Food...
"BILOXI, Miss. - President Bush met with survivors of Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi Mis., on Friday and assured them relief was in sight."
"I love you," he said to a weeping mother and daughter who told him they had no home, food or water, just the clothes they were wearing. "Hang in there."
This is going to have to be a unified effort. While I don’t believe you could put any type of blame on anyone for the results of this natural disaster, I understand the outrage people in New Orleans must have. The conditions there are horrible. The environment there is horrible. Even watching coverage of this "relief effort" seems like you’re watching some sort of disaster movie. We don’t have nearly enough troops in the city yet, we don’t have nearly enough food for the Americans still taking refuge around the area, volunteers haven’t even been allowed to travel to places where people are definitely waiting for much needed help. And all top of all that we have people using this terrible disaster to benefit them politically.
"The U.S. government has sent ``millions of tons of water and millions of tons of food'' along with medical and military aid, and more help is on the way, Bush said.."
"Still, ``the results are not acceptable,'' Bush said. He promised the government would ``deploy the assets necessary to get the situation under control'' and ``get the help to people."
As Americans sit and watch, we realize there is not much we can do except to donate anything we can to support this relief effort. This is what we do. This is why America is America. Because we give. Because we donate. The federal government can only do so much, we as Americans have the power to fix this. Below, are various links you can go to, to donate what you can to the people who need it the most.

The president is one man. I get a kick out of watching asshats run off at the mouth trying to demand the impossible of him. There are plenty of them out there, and there is no way to please them.
I for one applaud not just the president, but the thousands of volunteers in Texas, Louisiana, and the rest of the South.
I'm sure you've heard the latest from Kanye West.
YES!!
SOPHOMORES UNITE!!!
And its a good post.
I don't think you can blame anyone for the disaster but you can blame nearly everyone from the NO Chief of Police and Mayor to the President on the reaction time... leadership in all of those areas were horrible... it was a huge cluster in which should send a shudder down everyone's spine how unprepared we were and how slow things were done... especially since we knew at least 24 hours ahead of time it was going to hit... if this would have been an attack or even a natural disaster that could not be predicted as well, I would have to wonder if things would not have been worse...
The major thing we can learn from all of this is how to fix the problems before something else happens... four or five days to really react is way too long when considering that we have reacted quicker in other instances and in foreign countries...
I just watched the Kanye West bit again... say what you will about his message (and he will get a lot of heat about it) but I hate to say it... I was chuckling... not at what Kanye West was saying but the look on Mike Meyers face... it was like an SNL skit.... the hard gulping... the uncomfortable looks... in such a trying time that we are face, Kanye West just topped the all time unintentional humor rating of all time...
Morrison-Enjoyed your site. Thank God that the Troops have arrived in downtown New Orleans. The whole world has been watching our response, from every lib/dem, to the bloody islamofacists enemies of America. Robert Kennedy could hardly wait to assign the blame to Bush and global warming(also Bush's fault). Houston,TX. has risen to the occasion, as now have other cities.
nothing id really wanna discuss wit u........
and dont even try to convince me that the US is so wonderful and lovely cuz ud just be waisting ur time...ive seen the world, i can make comparisons and out of all the countries ive been (germany, italy, england, the neitherlands, the check repub, tunisia, sudan, saudi arabia, switzerland...) it comes in last. Yepp, AFTER saudi arabia.
Here are some links to use when deciding who to blame for the poor response and planning.

Brian Wolshon, an engineering professor at Louisiana State University who served as a consultant on the state's evacuation plan, said little attention was paid to moving out New Orleans's "low-mobility" population - the elderly, the infirm and the poor without cars or other means of fleeing the city, about 100,000 people.
At disaster planning meetings, he said, "the answer was often silence."
You are a high scrooler? You really are as young as that profile pic? Get. Out. You're smarter than the average punkster.
Going to be NHS next year?
Note to self... the "check republic" must be a great place to live. Sudanese Love Muffin... feel free to leave the USA at your own will at any time.
