  • Ann’s Problem With Roberts

"At least when Souter was nominated, we needed a stealth nominee. The Senate was majority Democrat back then. The Judiciary Committee consisted of eight Democrats and six Republicans — two of whom were aggressively pro-abortion. A year later, faced with the same Democratic Senate, the current president's father nominated Clarence Thomas. Who would have thought the current Bush would be less macho than his father?"

    -Ann Coulter

Ann Coulter raises a serious point in the debate over the Presidents Supreme Court nomination. Although I disagree with her, I can understand where she is coming from and how she arrived at such conclusions. Ann’s problem with Roberts is that he’s a stealth nominee, and statistically stealth nominee’s haven’t done well for the GOP. But that’s only the touching the surface of Ann’s controversial views on the Presidents decision. You see, we have the majority in the senate. If every single democrat voted against Roberts, we would still win. In Ann’s opinion, its stupid to select a stealth nominee when you have total control. Now, Ann’s reasons for not supporting the Presidents nomination doesn’t show weakness in her conservatism, if anything it shows her deep devotion and love for this country. She’s not supporting the President because she believes we need someone on the Supreme Court we can trust. We need someone who has pissed a couple people off in his life. We need someone who will stick to his guns. She cares about the safety of Americans, and she understands the importance of the Supreme Court. All we can do is sit back, and hope she’s wrong.

  • I tend to agree with Coulter. If they filibuster, go Constitutional. Screw 'em.

  • Oh MO!  your crystal ball is out again?  Predicting things like Roberts will win even if every Democrat says no.  But aren't you forgetting there maybe some Republicans with some balls who realize bland as white bread Roberts isn't the best choice?  I'm thinking Republican Dr. Frist maybe the first to consider his options here.  And surely there are others still in closet?

But after your piece today, I'm starting to like Roberts more.

  • I agree with Coulter as well.  I also think the most qualified person should get the job. Someone should not be nominated to the bench on the basis of gender, or minority status, which is unfortunately the view of many.  Equal rights, man.

  • Ann is amazingly honest and hilarious because she doesn't give a damn how much the liberals make up lies about her, she's still gonna tell it like it is.........so sad I didn't get to see her when she was at my college in the fall.

  • Thank you for the comment. Nice site you have here.

  • I completely agree with her actually.

  • little brother, you miss the point.  and so does mrs. coulter.

if everyone on the supreme court agrees with one another, than the entire faction lacks democracy.  you have to understand that.  i'm an extreme leftist, but i understand the value in opinionated people who use their voice as a tool for either decent of agreement.

for instance.... many republicans and democrates supported NAFTA (clitnon did it), even though a few on both sides of the room realized that it would destroy the moral, and well-being, and economy of the mexican people.  and now mexico has several rebel movements and 9 out of 10 of them are not pacifistic.

if the american people are trapped and have no options beyond a conservitive mind-set.... whether you believe that this is a good thing or not, it is facisim.  because there is no democracy.

hey, you remember when bush came on the air and anounced, "mission acomplished"?  hows come more american soldiers and iraqi civilians have died since then, then did the entire time prior to that?  you see there is more than "iraqi freedom" going on here.

first it was, "sadam hussain has been aiding the taliban."  then it was, "it has been confirmed by american intelligence that iraq has weapons of mass distruction."  and then it was, "the iraqi citizens are under opressoin from the worst threat america has seen since hitler."  and now it's, "you have to support us.  we are trying to bring democracy to the iraqi people and warlords are doing everything they can to stop this from happening."

and now i see you have a banner on your web-site that says "friends of israel."  you realize that israeli citizens have been protesting it's government for receiving provisional asistance from the american government, since the 70's.

your banner should read "friends of the israeli government."

come on kid, learn your heritage.  you're bigger than all this shit!  don't fall for the greed of america and it's (not so convencing) facade.  you're black.  you have protest embeaded in you!  don't be what malcom x called the "house nigga."

    peace and love

  • "if everyone on the supreme court agrees with one another, than the entire faction lacks democracy. you have to understand that.

Why? The Supreme Court was never meant to be democratic.

  • "Why? The Supreme Court was never meant to be democratic."

Too true, it was meant to be the final word on the law -- not a place to make the laws. Only in the past 60 years or so have liberals conned the uninformed masses into letting them rewrite laws as they see fit through their tryannical rule of the Supreme Court.

    As for

'come on kid, learn your heritage. you're bigger than all this shit! don't fall for the greed of america and it's (not so convencing) facade. you're black. you have protest embeaded in you! don't be what malcom x called the "house nigga."'

Wow, you just proved how the liberals have manipulated poor, uneducated blacks. You think that because someone is black that they have to be a certain way and that is one of the most racist things ever. Just like how CCCP assumes that only blacks are poor, you assume that all blacks must be liberal and not want to be productive. The liberals know that their only way of winning elections is the fact that they get abot 80% or so of the black vote -- so they constantly tell blacks that they're inferior, that they should be angry at Republicans for any problems that they have (and for many that live in inner cities their fellow blacks harm them most and cause them the most problems), and that the liberals 'want black equality' when they rely on keeping many blacks poor and uneducated so that they will consistantly vote liberal.

I got your back Morrison, don't let anyone tell you that you should conform to a sterotype for any reason.
