  • Everyone Wants To Defeat Terrorism

    Except You Liberals…

We’ve always known Al Gore was a liberal loon who didn’t understand the threat that faces our nation on a daily basis. His latest comments just add evidence to our claims. Al Gore believes that global warming is a more “serious problem” than fighting the war on terrorism. I applaud Al gore for his honesty and the dedication he shows in aiding liberal lunacy, but at the same time horrified that these are the comments of a former Vice President. These are the comments of someone who gained more popular votes than President Bush in the 2000 election. These are the comments of someone who many Americans support and would vote for again. How can so many people be so stupid? Even the left leaning media can’t hide this backlash that is taking place all around the world in response to terrorist attacks. We all want to defeat these monsters, except for you liberals. The people of Iraq have somewhat united in an effort to eliminate terrorism, many Islamic countries want these crooks behind bars or even dead. The American left is aiding the enemy by categorizing this war effort as not a “serious problem.” It’s disgusting. They criticize us on the right for “lying about the reasons we went to war” or they say that “our soldiers are dying in vain”. But it’s the left that has attempted to make this effort a pointless one. It’s the left that has continued to discredit this effort and its leader. They are hypocrites who want nothing but to see our soldiers fail in the Middle East, so they can gain easy access to the Whitehouse. Oh, what a shame.

  • Crazy Muslims Riot In France

    Talk About The Irony..

PARIS - President Jacques Chirac declared a state of emergency Tuesday, paving the way for curfews to be imposed on riot-hit cities and towns in an extraordinary measure to halt France's worst civil unrest in decades after 12 nights of violence.

    -story

This situation that is occurring in France just adds evidence to the notion that appeasement doesn't work. Unfortunately, the French have rested on this idea that if they don't do anything to fix the problem, the problem won't arrive at their doorsteps. This viewpoint has sadly been adopted by mainstream American liberals. This stuff going on in France should be looked at as an example for Americans. This is a war on the civilized world. Do you honestly believe these Extremist pigs care about your opinion on Iraq? Do you honestly believe that it's just a coincidence that France has the third highest Jewish population in the world? Do you honestly believe that it is a coincidence that the two nations who have the top two highest Jewish populations in the world have been attacked by Muslim extremists in the last 4 years? They are fighting a religious war. They praise their God when they chop off the heads of innocent Americans. When will the rest of the world wake up?

The Way Liberals Treat Blacks Is Disgusting!

“Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.”

“Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.”

    -story

So here we have yet another example of liberal hypocrisy. How many times have we heard that it’s the conservative base that is racist? How many times have we heard that it’s the Democrats who understand what minority Americans need? How many times have we heard that its liberalism that effects minorities positively? Oh, but let a minority show his support for the GOP, let a minority run as a Republican candidate, and the left will go completely insane. They start using names like “Benedict Arnold”, they start using names like “Uncle Tom”.  Its abosulety disgusting the way black Republicans are treated by those on the left. But honestly, is it really surprising?

Morrison Stuck At Home, On Halloween

With the Jag In The Shop, It Appears I Wont Be Going Anywhere For Quite Awhile

PHILADELPHIA Oct 31, 2005 — Commuters who rely on the city's buses, subways and trolleys were forced to walk, hitch rides and take taxis to work Monday after thousands of city transit workers went on strike.

In a city where one in three households lacks a car, about 920,000 trips are taken on a typical weekday along the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority lines shut down by the strike.

  • The Gloves Have Come Off

Do You Libs Honestly Want A Fight?

WASHINGTON (AP) —"President Bush, eager to put a bruising brawl within his own party behind him, is expected to announce his new pick for the Supreme Court within days."

"Bush has offered no hint about his thinking on a new nominee, but he isn't starting from scratch. The president already has vetted and interviewed several candidates, and White House officials wouldn't rule out the possibility that an announcement could be made as early as Friday."

    -story

So it appears the President has acknowledged the divide within his conservative base and has decided that a new nominee would settle things down a bit. The left has downplayed this withdrawal as much as they could. You see, they want you to believe that this is happening because of Tom Delay, they want you to believe this is happening because of Karl Rove. This is happening because there was a divide in the conservative movement over this nominee. This time, there will be no divide. This time, our nominee will be easily confirmed through the Senate. This is not good for the American left. They will attempt to smear this nominee and it will result in a backlash. We will prevail, and another conservative will be appointed to the Supreme Court.

    American Government Simulation Welcome Letter

  • American Government Simulation Needs More Republicans!

Morrison Report: A Source For Recruiting!!

    AGS Welcome Letter

    Howdy there,

First of all this letter is intended to be a guide. It is my hope that you can reference back to this letter for a list of links, and as a resource of information to look to. I do not expect you to finish reading this letter in one sitting - so that's why it's stickied here in the Majority Office, whenever you need to look at it! smile.gif

Bolded and underlined words are links to the place I am referring you to. Just click on the bolded and underlined text, and it will take you to that forum.

Welcome to the Republican Party and the Majority Coalition. If you join the Republican Party, you automatically join the Coalition the Republican Party is affiliated with. If you are a Independent, you have to post a sign in thread at the Majority Office to caucus with the Republican Party. It’s a pleasure to have you here. If you haven’t signed into the game, and you are reading the boards, while wondering how to join our fair simulation, here are the directions to sign into the game, then at the top of the forums page, there should be this:

    QUOTE
DIRECTIONS TO REGISTER AND SIGN INTO THE GAME.

    1. Welcome Guest (Log In | Register )

    2. Click on “Register” and follow the instructions. I believe you can post immediately after registering but you have to be cleared to be a member by our Administrator, Carl Berube.

    3. You can log in and set your cookies to remember you by clicking “Yes” to “Remember Me” at the log in page. This makes it easier for you to log into AGS but as the page says, it is not recommended for shared computers.

    4. Sign here first:  Member Center. Make a new post signing in with your name, Party, State, and District. Check the
House House Roster for available seats to take before you sign in. Be sure not to sign into an occupied seat. ' You need to make another post to sign into your Party Headquarters (in this case, that would be the Republican Party or Independent and Unaffiliated Caucus).

    5. After that -- create your Signature. Here's how. Go to My Controls, then go to "Edit Signature." Your signature needs to contain your name, party, state and district in order for your votes to count.

We have a Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, and Judicial Branch as well as State Governors. The Executive Branch is comprised of the President, the Vice President, and the Cabinet. When you sign in, you are automatically a Representative - a Member of the House. I will explain in a minute how you become a Senator, Governor, or President of the United States or a Cabinet Member/Supreme Court Justice.

The AB (Administrative Board) simulates the Presidential Election based on PP and other factors; no one actually votes. You can endorse candidates and they will matter if you have Prestige Points (PP). More on that later. The AB also simulates the Governors and the Senate elections. It would determine if you are a winner based on how much Prestige you have, how well you campaign, and generally who supports you - how much support you have.

You can become a Cabinet Member or a Supreme Court Justice if the President nominates you to be either one. You would go to a Committee vote (say Attorney General nominations would have to go through Judiciary) and then if you pass, your nomination will go through the whole House for a vote. Then if you pass, you become either a Cabinet member or a Court Justice - whichever you were nominated for.

Then there’s these two parties you should look at signing in (I assume here you are a Republican or a Independent associating with the Republicans; else you wouldn’t be reading the G.O.P Majority Leader’s Letter now, would you?) – either the Republican Party or the Independent Party.

Here are the links to both the parties.

    I. Republican Party.

Republican Party Leader: Robert Schmidt (R-California)
Republican Party Whip: Michael Falanton (R-Virginia).

Leader Robert Schmidt (R-California) will get you access to our war room, pending that you be eligible for it. Be patient; he can only request war room access for new members once a week.

By the way, if you're a Republican, I'd like you to answer our Party Roll Call. Party Roll Call. Please put your name, State, AIM or contact information in that thread so we know how to contact you! smile.gif

    II. Independent and Unaffiliated Caucus.

Independent Party Chair: Promethus Jones (I-Colorado).

If you are an Independent, and you wish to be associated with the Majority Republican Party, then you post that you are coalitioning with us here in the Majority Office.

    I. House Majority Office.

Speaker of the House: Stephen Koestler (R-Nevada)

Majority Leader: Schuyler J. Hatcher (R-Texas) (That’s me!)
    Majority Whip: John Smith (R-Washington)

A few notes about the Majority Office. If you caucus with us, I – the Majority Leader - will give you seats. You can request seats here: House Majority Committee Roster.

Done? Good. You can write your first bill then. The guide will be up shortly for that. When you are done writing your first piece of legislation, you can submit it to any committee you like – in the Hopper of each Committee. Committees are here: Committees. They are below News and Media. If you click on any committee – say, Agriculture, Energy, and Environment, you’ll find a folder with the Committee’s name and the word, “Hopper.” You can post your new bill there. If you have done that, your first bill is placed there. It will go for a hearing, where you are expected to show up to answer questions (the Chairman will inform you when your hearing comes) about your bill. Then it goes to a Debate, and then finally, a vote. If it is approved, the Speaker of the House will look at the schedule as to when he can bring it up for debate. Should it pass a vote after debate, it will go to the President of the United States for a signature or a veto. Since you’re joining a political simulation, you know what happens in the case of a veto.

Here is the House Floor (House Floor) - you can't vote immediately (your vote won't count if there is a vote in progress when you signed in) but you can jump into debate immediately. During debate, a few rules to follow. Rules of decorum must be followed on the house floor. Address only the Speaker of the House directly, keep it clean, do not refer to other members by name, yield the floor when you are finished.

Our President is Michael J. Adams (D-Florida) and our Vice President is Richard Williams (D-Virginia).

A final few rules concerning the game, overall. Here are the AGS Rules. You can look up them section by section in this folder – AGS Rules Folder. Or you can read the Rules in its entirety here – Link to AGS Rules in its entirety.

Then there are the AGS Rules of Order – that deals with what kind of motions you can make as a Congresscritter - are here by section. Link: AGS Rules of Order by Section. You can read the Entire AGS Rules of Order here: AGS Rules of Order, Complete.

Here is the AUP, which you should read. AGS Acceptable Use Policy . Amendments are here: List of Amendments to AUP. You may not play more than one character at a time and it’s a good rule of thumb to be polite to your fellow Congresscritters. Contrary to popular conventions, being nice and polite DOES get you places. And yes, you can be nice, polite, and still very much a partisan fighting for your beliefs.

Lastly, here is the Tavern (The Tavern) for your enjoyment. People convene here for OOC conversation. That means “Out of Character” conversation, as in you would speak as your real life persona. All areas related to playing the game are strictly in Character (IC). For in character conversations, you go to this forum: The Cloak Room. To make press releases on House business, you would make them here – Media Releases.

An excellent resource for you may be the FAQ. It is written by our game host, Brady Carlson of New Hampshire. FAQ Forum. Also, since PP is a large factor in the game, here's something for you to see: Prestige Points.

If you wish to contact any member, you can go to your PM Box and send a message to that member. A PM Box (look up to the top-right of the screen, and you will see "My Controls · 0 New Messages." This is your Private Message (PM) box. You can send messages to other players and get messages from them. This is an effective form of communication. When you wish to reply to a message you have gotten, you click at the bottom, "Reply" (It will look like this: [ Forward PM | Reply]) to reply to the message.

For now, that should get you settled. If you have any questions, PM me at “Ebenezer Scrooge.” If you have any feedback about this letter - is it too long? Too short? Too complicated, or what not, let me know and I will try to amend it to make it better. smile.gif

Explore - and ask questions - most people are eager to help!

    Sincerely,

    Schuyler J. Hatcher
    Republican of Texas

    House Majority Leader
    Former Republican Leader

  • Dobson Takes A Bold Stand

Dr. Dobson Knows Something That We Don't

WASHINGTON - "When it comes to Harriet Miers, the evangelical community seems split. Some groups will not support her because she is an unknown with no proven judicial track record on abortion and other issues important to evangelicals. Others such as Focus on the Family Chairman James Dobson support her"

"Dobson supported Miers since the beginning. He was quoted on his radio show saying, 'When you know some of the things I know - that I probably shouldn't know, that would take me in this direction - you would understand why I have said, with fear and trepidation, that I believe Harriet Miers will be a good justice.'"

"Dobson said his information stemmed from a personal conversation with Bush aide Karl Rove, in which Rove assured him that Miers was a conservative Christian who belonged to a pro-life organization. Dobson said Rove recently gave him permission to reveal the content of their conversation."

    Dobson's Radio Broadcast

Oct. 12, 2005 "James Dobson, founder of the conservative group Focus on the Family, made waves earlier this month when he said he had confidential information that led him to back President Bush's nomination of Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court — even as other conservatives spoke out against the nomination."

"Today, Dobson claimed to do so during Focus on the Family's 30-minute daily radio program, which the group says is aired on over 3,000 radio facilities each day across the United States."

  • McCain 08?

Lib Media Has Orgasm Over Miers Divide!

NEW YORK -- "Arizona Sen. John McCain is considering a 2008 run for president but says it's unlikely he'd take the No. 2 spot."

"In an appearance Sunday at a fund-raiser for a local New York candidate, the Republican seemed to humorously rule out ever accepting a vice presidential post."

    -article

This is something I’ve been waiting to blog about since yesterday, but couldn’t because something important came up. So this article that popped up in the Washington Post a couple of days ago identifies the possibility of McCain running in 08. As If that possibility hasn’t been mentioned a million times before. But don’t you find the timing of this article a little odd? Let me analyze this for you. The liberal media for some reason believes the conservative movement has been severely damaged. They believe its only a matter of time before the conservative movement self destructs. They look at Tom Delay, they look at Mike Brown, they look at Bush’s poll numbers, they look at all the things that are going wrong for the GOP and they come to the conclusion that maybe, just maybe its over the conservative movement. And what happens next? George Bush nominates Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court. When I first realized who Bush’s pick was, I was disappointed. Not so much over the fact we know nothing about this women yet, but more on the point that this nomination has somewhat divided the conservative movement. There are many who rightfully so, are just plain disgusted with this nomination. Yet there are some, like me, who support this nomination and trust this President has made the right decision. The lib media is the lib media and that’s why they don’t see the obvious. They don’t understand the conservative movement. They don’t understand that regardless of conservative A's and conservative B’s differences on Harriet Miers, we will never let liberals take control of this country without a fight. We will never let the left steer this country into the wrong direction again. They don’t see this! They don’t see the level of importance we see in fighting this war on terror. They don’t see the level of commitment we have in finishing what we started in Iraq. They see Rush Limbaugh and Laura Bush give opposing views on a nomination and they have one of those famous lib media orgasms. They go nuts! They go absolutely nuts!

  • Berger Challenges Freeh

Should We Really Be Putting Our Trust In Sandy Berger?

"Under strong pressure from former President Bill Clinton's advisers, CBS's ''60 Minutes'' has agreed to read a statement denying an explosive charge being made on Sunday nght's program by former FBI director Louis Freeh, the WASHINGTON POST reports."

"In the statement, Samuel ``Sandy'' Berger, Clinton's national security adviser, challenges Freeh's assertion that Clinton failed to press Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to cooperate with an investigation of the 1996 bombing of Khobar Towers in that country, and used the occasion to ask for a contribution to his presidential library. The Saudis made such a donation last year _ six years after the 1998 meeting."

    -DrudgeFlash

So Louis Freeh has a book ("My FBI") coming out that exposes the Clinton Administration’s (among other things) corrupt handling of the bombing of the Khobar Towers. According to Freeh, Clinton who was supposed to be pressing for the cooperation of the Saudi prince to allow detectives to question certain individuals, instead used the moment to ask for a contribution to his library. Ok. So the media Is out on a smear campaign to discredit Louis Freeh in defense of Bill Clinton But I want to talk about something else. I want to talk about the guy the Clinton’s sent to discredit Freeh. Sandy Berger? Hmmm. She we really be putting our trust into someone who stole from the National Archives? This book exposes the mishandling of certain issues by the Clinton administration, that’s why Berger is out giving statements to the media to discredit this man. Regardless of what the media is sure to spin about Louis Freeh, the Clinton Administration's foreign policy was a disgrace. It was Clinton who turned down the offer of Bin Laden, it was Clinton who did absolutely nothing when the World Trade Center was bombed in 93, it was Clinton who did absolutely nothing when the US Air Force’s housing complex was bombed in 96, in 1993 when 18 Americans were killed in Somalia, Clinton did do something: he ordered our troops home. The only time Clinton responded to the terror threat towards this nation was when Monica Lewinsky testified before the grand jury! All the lies, all the deception, some would even call it.............."a culture of corruption".*gasp*
